What a creator lawyer in Dubai does for you

The creator economy has real legal infrastructure behind it — visas, licences, tax, contracts and IP. We cover the whole journey, whether you are relocating, building a business, or protecting what you have built:

Who we act for

We work with influencers and content creators across every platform, YouTubers and streamers, UGC creators, talent agencies and MCNs, managers, and brands running influencer campaigns — on whichever side of the deal you are on.

Why Neo Legal for creators

Creators sit within our dedicated Creator & Influencer practice. We combine the commercial, tax and immigration pieces that a creator move actually needs, we are partner-led from day one, we work in English, Arabic and Chinese, and Neo Legal is the UAE practice of Cornwalls (established 1891) — a global network behind a boutique that understands the internet.

Influencer & creator lawyer Dubai — frequently asked questions

Do influencers and content creators need a licence in Dubai?
Yes, if you monetise or publish promotional content from inside the UAE. From 1 February 2026 the framework is a trade or freelance licence, an e-media licence, and an Advertiser Permit from the UAE Media Council. The trigger is promotion activity, not follower count, and it covers paid partnerships, gifted stays, free products and affiliate links. Operating without the right licence can attract fines from AED 10,000. Neo Legal sets up the full licence stack for you.
Do content creators pay tax in the UAE?
There is no personal income tax in the UAE, so creators are not taxed personally on their earnings. Business profits are within UAE Corporate Tax at 9% above AED 375,000, but Small Business Relief can treat you as having no taxable income where revenue is at or below AED 3 million (currently to the end of 2026). Importantly, in-kind income — gifted stays, free products, event access — counts as taxable business income. We structure and register you correctly. See creator tax in the UAE.
How do I move to Dubai as an influencer or creator?
Common routes are the Digital Nomad Visa, a Green/freelance visa, or the 10-year Golden Visa for creative talent. Tax residency now needs only around 90 days of presence plus a Tax Residency Certificate, but your home country's tax net does not switch off automatically. See how to move to Dubai as a creator.
Can Neo Legal set up my creator company and licence?
Yes. We advise on free zone versus mainland, choose the right media free zone (such as Dubai Media City or twofour54), incorporate the company, and obtain the trade, e-media and Advertiser Permit licences — then handle your visa and banking. See setting up a creator business in Dubai.
Can you review my brand-deal and agency contracts?
Yes. We draft and negotiate brand-deal and sponsorship agreements (deliverables, usage rights, exclusivity, payment, morality clauses and kill fees), and creator agency and management agreements — protecting your rights, your rates and your exit. We act for creators, and separately for agencies and brands.
Can you protect my name, likeness and content?
Yes. We help trademark your name and brand, structure ownership of your content and IP, and act on image and likeness rights, defamation, deepfakes and content takedowns — the tools that protect a creator's most valuable asset: their identity and audience.
Who does Neo Legal act for in the creator economy?
Influencers and content creators across platforms, YouTubers and streamers, UGC creators, talent agencies and MCNs, managers, and brands running influencer campaigns. Engagements are partner-led and available in English, Arabic and Chinese, and Neo Legal is the UAE practice of Cornwalls, established 1891.
