Allan advises Chinese enterprises establishing, investing and operating in Australia, and Australian businesses expanding into China and Asia, across corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investment, intellectual property and disputes. He has advised more than 100 enterprises and consumer brands, with industry depth spanning e-commerce, consumer goods, clean energy, electric vehicles and global trade.
His recent mandates include leading cross-border M&A and capital advisory engagements exceeding A$100 million; negotiating a commercial agreement between an Australian clean energy and EV platform and a Chinese state-owned enterprise; advising a US$500 million Asian clean energy fund on its Australian strategy; coordinating Pillar Two tax advice for a Shanghai-listed global IoT provider across three jurisdictions; and managing Chinese trademark portfolios for prominent Australian skincare brands. Before returning to practice, Allan co-founded an award-winning cross-border consultancy and, as Head of Marketing, took the flagship Australian brand of a Shenzhen-listed consumer health group (a market leader with annual turnover of around A$1.7 billion) to No.1 in its category in Australia.
